In the harbour area, near Avenida Castilho Franca, there's the daily Ver-O-Peso market, meaning "see the weight". They sell all these magic stuff: lizard powder, dolphin eyes, boa dries heads, alligator teeth. Some are actually against the low, so you can just content yourself with miracle elixirs and medical roots, if you can trust them. I was under the impression that my skin turned green after using that turtle soap...
