Expeditions up the Amazon, Belem

Posted 11 months ago by jiro in response to avatar eduardo's question: I want to offer my honey-bunny the expedition of her dreams, but she's the Xena kind of a woman, so tell me a company arranging trips from Belem through the Amazonian jungle. Thanks (give a different answer) .

Abercrombie & Kent (info@abercrombiekent.com) guide tourists from Belem to Iquitos in Peru on cruises up "the River Sea", as the cappuccino-colored Amazon is called. You'll embark on the Explorer for 19 days, but you'll stop for hiking in riverside villages, rain forests, islands. My favorite was "the wedding of the waters", where the Amazon units with Rio Negro. The River Sea has a flow ten times bigger than the Mississippi, gathering the strength of 1000 watercourses. (it's not for the faint-hearted as it costs almost 7,000$ )
