About 100 km out of the city there is the famous cave Gruta de Maquine, which has 6 rooms open for visitation. There is light inside the cave but it's pretty hot inside (about 25 degrees). It's 5$ to enter and nearby there is a restaurant you can check out. To get there, take the bus at 8.30 (I took this one, there may be others).
