From the beginning you should know that Praca da Liberdade (Square of Freedom or Liberty Square) is very attractive itself, with trees, flowers, fountains which are lit at night. At the end of the Praca I found the Palacio da Liberdade (Liberty Palace), which was built between 1895 and 1898 as the residence of the president of Minas Gerais. The architecture and decoration of the palace was really impressive. You can visit it only on Sundays, from 9 am to 6 pm.
