The Botanic Gardens are on Estrada do Aleixo, at km 3; just take any bus that says it goes to Aleixo. It's open from Monday to Friday between 09-11, Saturday and Sunday from 09-16. The entrance to the garden costs $2. You shoudn't miss the chance to go especially if you like birds... there's a great variety of them.
