Go to Museo Camara Cascudo - it has exhibits on archaeological sites and Umbanda rituals on display, as well as items from the leather, sugar and petroleum industries. Th ticket is 1.90$. The museum is open on weekdays from 8 to 5 (closed during lunch) with special schedule on Mondays and Saturdays. It's on Av Hermos de Fonseca.
