About 130 km of Porto Alegre, there is a resort called Tramandai, which has very popular beaches. There area is full of restaurants, hotels and bars. There are large dunes in the area as well as lakes where can take a look at the local wildlife. You can also try sports here. It's kind of crowded though. To get there, take a bus from the city (3.5$).
