My friends stayed at Recife Plaza while they were in town. It's in the central area, in Boa Vista, on R da Aurora. It's a 3 star hotel so expect prices to be a bit high (46-65$). It has a view of the Rio Capibaribe and a good restaurant which is usually full during lunchtime.
