masako's question:
A history museum I can visit in Rio?(give a different answer) .
Last time I spent more time in Rio I visited the City History Museum (Museu Historico da Cidade) housed in a 19th century mansion in the grounds of Parque da Cidade. It has a permanent collection that talks about Rio since its founding in 1565 and exhibitions of porcelain, furniture, photographs and paintings by well-known artists. I paid only 2 US dollars for admission. The exact location is Estrada de Santa Marinha 505, in the Gavea neighborhood.
