Rio de Janeiro, Pao de Acucar

Posted 1 year ago by avatar hans in response to avatar bekky's question: A natural landmark of Rio? (give a different answer) .

That will be Pao de Acucar (Sugarloaf)- everyone must go and and see this summit that offers great views of Rio's beautiful shore line and of the city. You should climb around sunset on a clear day to see Rio sparkling. Also avoid from 10 am and 11 am and between 2 pm and 3 pm when is packed with tourists. To reach the summit above Rio and the Baia de Guanabara take two cable-cars. One ascends 220 m to Morro da Urca where you will find a restaurant, souvenir shops, an outdoor theater and a helipad and the second car goes up to Pao de Acucar. The cable cars operate every 30 minutes.
