Rio de Janeiro's Cristo Redentor

Posted 1 year ago by avatar hans in response to avatar liquid's question: Can someone tell me more about the statue of Jesus Christ in Rio? (give a different answer) .

The 38m high statue called Cristo Redentor( Christ the Redeemer) looms large atop Corcovado, a 710m high summit sited within the Parque National da Tijuca. You can get there by car, by train. A taxi charges 20 US dollars for return trips with waiting time. At night, the brightly lit statue can be seen from every part of Rio.
