You can visit the small islands in the bay: Ilha de Paqueta and Ilha Fiscal by boarding on one of the ferry boats. And, yes, you can admire downtown Rio and the surrounding landscapes taking the commuter ferry to Niteroi. This ferry trip costs only 1 US dollar and leaves every 20 minutes from Praca Quinze de Novembro in Centro. You can also take faster and more comfortable catamarans that run every 15 minutes from 7am to 4 pm and costs 3 US dollars per person.
